Temperature Measurement

1. Multi-point Temperature Transmitters

THERMOPOINT 2-wire Temperature Transmitters are suitable for continuous multi-point temperature-measurement, -indication and -transmission of normal and hazardous liquids, powders or granular solids. Temperature of grain, feed stored in silos needs to be monitored for maintaining quality of the stored medium. Monitoring of the total volume of the silo is needed to provide information on accidental quality loss or appearance of germs or fungus. Eventual temperature increases will alert the operator to perform operation or recycling the medium. Temperature measurement is done by electronic temperature sensors placed at equal distances in a plastic-coated stainless steel flexible tube. Each sensor sends the actual measured temperature of its environment to the transmitter head. The 2-wire loop-operated transmitter head communicates through HART® protocol with control room devices such as a MultiCONT or a PC, for further processing or datalogging. A salient advantage of the MultiCONT based system is that, if level measurement is required the system can be extended with a level transmitter. The advantage of using a multifunction system is that a new transmitter can easily be inserted into the existing loop, using the existing HART® communication.

2. Temperature Transmitter

THERMOCONT T–500/600 series 2-wire temperature transmitters are suitable for measuring, indicating and transmitting temperature of ordinary and hazardous gases, fumes, liquids and masses. The Pt100 sensor of the unit is accommodated in normal or plastic-coated stainless-steel tube manufactured with different intrusion length end process connection. Intelligent electronics and HART® communication provides application possibilities for the most different tasks.

3. Temperature Sensor

3.1 Resistance thermometers are fundamental elements of industrial process control. The TFP−000−0 resistance thermometer-family measures temperature in industrial applications. Primarily, they are used as sensors for heated tools and bearings. The sensor tip of the TFP−500/600 types is made from copper to provide a faster response time. The TFP−300/400 has a process connection with a suitable mounting bolt. TFP−100/200/500/600 devices have different types of mounting bolts that are ordered separately. The mounting bolts allow the sensors to be screwed into various threads

3.2 Resistance thermometer and thermocouple are used as sensors of temperature measurement in industrial process control. The sensors are installed in various kinds of mediums (e.g. liquids, gas, fumes) inside pipes, tanks and furnaces.

4. Thermowell Temperature Sensor

THERMOCONT TXP resistance thermometers with drilled thermo-well case are used as sensors of temperature measurement in industrial process control, especially in the gas industry. The temperature sensors are suitable for temperature measurement of various kinds of gaseous media inside pipelines, tanks or furnaces. The heat-sink on the outer protection tube provides accurate measurement independently from the ambient temperature. The mechanical and vibration-protection requirements are met by double pipe construction including the inner and outer tube and well. Process connection and electrical connection are provided as detailed below. Sealing of the wiring cables are provided by the cable glands. The outer protection tube is a drilled thermo-well case made from stainless steel. The cover of housing has a security chain against loss. The Pt100 temperature sensor can be replaced without removing the instrument from the process.

5. Temperature Gauge

Temperature gauges measure the thermal state of a homogeneous substance. The measuring system must be brought as closely together as possible with the body to be measured. The most widely used measuring methods rely on temperature-dependent physical and material characteristics.
